The League is the top cancer research funding association in France
Research is organised into different categories:
- Fundamental research
- Clinical research (improving treatments)
- Epidemiological research (study of the risk factors for improving
- Prevention and screening conditions
- Research in human and social sciences
It is coordinated completely independently and transparently by a national scientific committee and regional and departmental scientific committees.
By ensuring research teams are stringently selected based on excellence by independent expert commissions, the League funds research programmes and facilitates major advances in patients' treatment and quality of life.
The CIT (Tumour ID Card) project, in partnership with major institutions, was launched in 1999.
