ACTIONS FOR PATIENTS AND THEIR LOVED ONES

By organising, in 1998, 2000 and 2004, Conventions on Cancer Patients and their Loved Ones, in the presence of the French president, the League gave great impetus for patients and their loved ones to receive better cover.
By giving them a platform, the League highlighted their needs for better care and quality of life, taking these into account and ensuring concrete action was taken.
To do this, discussion groups were set up in response to a need expressed by patients and their loved ones.
The League stresses how recovered cancer patients are often doubly penalised by being refused certain rights such as credit facilities or returning to work.
In order to put an end to the solitude experienced by patients' loved ones, the League has created a space where they can express themselves and obtain information through the newspaper "Les Proches" (Loved Ones).
On 23 November 2008, the League organised the 1st Convention of Society Against Cancer in order to rally together social contributors (government, companies, associations, etc.) to promote reflection on the place of cancer and cancer sufferers, as well as their loved ones, in 21st century France.
